About the Artist
Christie Foreman
My work combines traditional leather handcrafting with modern hot foil techniques. Foils are applied using a heated pen, and layered with paint to create images. The result can be reminiscent of cloisonné, brocade, or stained glass.
I use untreated vegetable-tanned leather as a canvas and often use coloured leather as an accent. I like the idea of connecting with someone through a piece that uplifts them — and that they enjoy and carry through life every day.
I am a leather crafter and artist with a home studio in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. My work is fully handmade from start to finish, and each piece is unique.
